Across the street from San Pablo Lytton Casino is a small
plaza that is home to Blue Bay Thai Cuisine. I would say it was my second time
dining there, but my first try of their lunch specials which I did not know
they had. Me and my roommate ordered their fried calamari to start. It had a
nice crunch to it and I liked the spices used in its light coating. Looking
through their menu I noticed there were a lot of options for their lunch
specials such as noodle soups, fried rice, and more. I love curry and was
excited to see that they had red pumpkin curry with a choice of protein,
steamed rice, and side salad. My roommate ordered the basil fried rice.

Our food arrived to our table within 10 minutes. The red pumpkin
curry with chicken had great flavors and paired well with the steamed rice
texture and tastewise. I tried a bit of my roommate’s basil fried rice (with
beef and pork), I thought it was a bit too spicy for me at first but it was also
really good. We couldn’t finish everything as we got full so we took the rest
to go.

Overall view of everything we ordered |
Usually my roommates and I have ordered either the spicy
seafood mango fried rice or their roast duck with pineapple fried rice for delivery
from Blue Bay. I first found out about it from looking on Grubhub a few years
ago for something else to try besides the usual pizza. Dining in at Blue Bay
was overall a pleasant experience, the service was very friendly and I also
liked the free guava candy given when paying for the bill. This restaurant has
great Thai food with a modern twist on their dishes. I recommend if you are
looking for somewhere to eat in San Pablo casino area or especially for their lunch
specials which are also a good deal of price and portion. I would definitely go back there again!
